Bonus Exercise: Getting a Second Life
Do you enjoy gaming? Are you curious about virtual worlds? You might be ready to get a Second Life.
Second Life is a virtual world that has some similarities to massive multi-player games like The Sims Online and World of Warcraft, but it isn’t a game. There are no rules, quests, or opponents. All the experiences you can have in Second Life are designed and created by its users. From the Info Island Welcome Center to Health Info Island to the 19th Century Caledon Libraries to unique state library collections…just wait till you see how many library experiences it is possible to have in Second Life!
If you have extra time this week or in coming weeks, sign up for a free, basic Second Life account. Spend some time on Orientation Island learning to use the interface and customizing your avatar. You’ll probably wish it were this easy to change your hairstyle or body shape in real life! When you’re ready, teleport to Info Island and the virtual NSU Law Library. For more places to visit, ask some of the librarians or other residents you meet about their favorite places on the grid.

Sorry–no idea how that happened! It’s fixed now.
